From SWS Airmark Chairman Lynn Meadows:
I know many chapters in our section are airmarking their local [and not so local] airports. Please submit an airmarking form for each project you do whether it is a compass rose or an airmark of the airport name or even numbers/threshold lines. And each chapter that participates should submit a form as both/all chapters will get credit.
The calendar year is the basis of the award, Jan. 1st to Dec. 31st. Reports are due to me by March 1st and awards will be presented at the spring section meeting each year. I submit a report for our section on to the international airmarking chairman. IF you are having problems doing the math on the form, submit the form with all the other information and the letters/numbers you have painted and the height and I will compute the points.
This project of airmarking enhances flying safety and is a wonderful opportunity for chapters to get together in a relaxed atmosphere for a fun project. Invite your FWPs to join in, too, as it gives them a sense of attachements to the 99s.
Contact me if you have questions by phone or email as I am in the directory. Hope to see you all out there with paint, brushes, and rollers.
